About Me

Matthew James Gear is an Australian record producer, songwriter and DJ based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Through his two creative projects—Matthew.Gear and DJ GRZA—he creates original records that blend contemporary R&B, Afropop, electronic music, hip hop and pop. From Triple J-supported releases and national radio airplay to performances at Darwin Festival, Bassinthegrass and Eden Festival, his work bridges studio production and live performance with songwriting at its core.
